Albany born violinist Madeleine Antoine began lessons at age six with Phillip Noer. She received her Bachelor of Music Performance from the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2010, studying with Jacek Slawomirski and Peter Tanfield. She then studied with Dana Vlachová at the Prague Conservatory of Music (2010) and she gave a post-graduate recital at UWA the following year under the tutelage of Paul Wright.
Madeleine was the concertmaster of the West Australian Youth Orchestra in 2011 and 2012. Solo performances include the Bruch Violin Concerto with the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra and as a finalist in the Warana Concerto Competition (2008) she performed Wieniawski Concerto No.2 and Viextemp’s Concerto no.4 (2009) with the Faith Court Orchestra. Madeleine appeared as soloist in a season with the WA Ballet’s production of ‘Strings 32’ at the Quarry Amphitheatre and at the Sydney Theatre. She has performed in theatre productions including the ‘Swan River Saga’and ‘Les Miserables’.
Madeleine performs with various orchestras including the Perth Chamber Orchestra, WA Philharmonic, WAAPA’s Indian Ocean Ensemble and the Orchestra de la Francophonie in Montreal. As a regular performer with the Perth Symphony Orchestra Madeleine has enjoyed performances with stars such as Michael Bublé, Rod Stewart, Olivia Newton-John, James Morrison & Diana Krall.
She is currently studying a Masters of Arts at WAAPA under the tutelage of Alexandre da Costa. Madeleine teaches the violin at colleges in Perth and she enjoys performing for events including weddings, private and corporate functions.
